Samsung is preparing to stir up the technology world once again with the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event to be held in New York on July 9, 2025. This event, where the company will introduce its flagship devices, draws attention not only with new products but also with groundbreaking innovations in mobile technology.
Samsung raises its hand in foldables
One of the most intriguing surprises of the event may be Samsung’s first tri-fold phone. This device, which is thought to be a turning point in the industry, is expected to be revealed with a short promotional video or a “surprise” announcement at the launch. This phone, all details of which are not yet known, may only be exhibited as a prototype and its full launch may be postponed to October 2025. If this happens, the door to a new era in the smartphone world may open.
The new stars of Samsung’s foldable phone family, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, will be the main focus of the event.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes with its thinnest foldable design yet. The device, which is 8.9 mm thin when folded and 4.2 mm thin when opened, enriches the user experience with larger front and interior screens. It also takes a giant step in photo quality with its 200 MP main camera.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7, on the other hand, expands its outer screen to 4 inches and this screen, which extends to the camera lenses, offers a more functional use. The Flip 7, which makes a big leap in battery life with its 4,300 mAh battery, will be equipped with Samsung’s new Exynos 2500 processor. This will be the first step in the transition to local production power in the foldable series.
Affordable Foldable: Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE
Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE as a budget-friendly option. Based on last year’s Flip 6 design, this “Fan Edition” model takes a bold position in the price-performance balance with its Exynos 2400 processor.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series: The Classic Returns
There is also exciting news for smartwatch lovers. The Galaxy Watch 8 series brings back nostalgia with the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic model, which has a physical rotating bezel. Adopting the “Squircle” design concept, this model will also feature the action button on the Ultra. While the Exynos W1000 chipset continues on the hardware side, new health tracking features will enhance the user experience. However, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will not be introduced this year; only new color options will be added to the current Ultra model.
One UI 8 and Android 16 Surprise
Samsung may also announce the One UI 8 (based on Android 16) update at the event. This update, whose beta versions have become stable, will offer innovative features to both new devices and existing Galaxy phones. Although there is no official confirmation, an important step is expected to be taken in this regard on July 9.
